Giving Thanks

Children at Unity House’s Unity Sunshine Program enjoyed a Thanksgiving Feast with teachers and staff.

Over 400 families received Thanksgiving Food Packages, including fresh produce, thanks to generous support and countless food drives.

Individuals and families will enjoy a Thanksgiving meal in the Unity House dining room served by staff and volunteers.

Dozens of socks, underwear and bras were collected to share with area shelters in recognition of Homelessness Awareness.

This is just a glimpse of what’s been going on at Unity House in this season of giving.

Also happening are toy drives for the Adopt a Child program, more food drives to keep our pantry stocked, and inquires about how to help- directly or indirectly. Of course, the day-to-day work continues: helping victims of domestic violence, housing and case management services, a PROS program for adults with a mental health diagnosis, the Unity Sunshine Program for children, the Community Resources program to help with life’s essentials and ReStyle, our busy thrift store. This is also a busy time of year for our Volunteer Desk, which fields inquiries about how to help.

At this time of year we are especially grateful for the support of so many from all parts of our community. Unity House could not help people in need without the generous support of donors and volunteers. We try to say thank you to let people know how much we appreciate their help- that their support not only honors the people who come to us in need, but honors the staff who work hard to provide Unity House programs and services. For this reason, it’s wonderful that we have a specific day to give thanks.

On behalf of those we serve, Thank You.
