Staff from Unity House’s Community Resources program will attend the 2016 Capital Region Homeless Veterans Stand Down event on Saturday, October 1st. The event is from 8am – 1pm and will be at the Colonie BPE Elks #2192 at 11 Elks Lane in Latham.
As per event organizers, the event is open to homeless and at-risk of being homeless, brother and sister veterans and their families. Coffee will be available at 7am, with breakfast at 7:30 and registration at 8am.
The group is offering the following free services:
- medical screenings
- employment help
- food
- clothing
- legal assistance
- information about programs and services
