Northeast Acura Delivers

Known for their great cars and great service.

Did you know Northeast Acura in Latham also delivers? We’re not talking about cars.

We mean toys. Each year, Northeast Acura provides a driver and a van to assist with Unity House’s Adopt a Child holiday gift giving program. It’s an enormous undertaking over two months involving many volunteers and special shopping elves who help fulfill the holiday wish lists of over 1,000 children.

In many ways, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. We are blown away by the amazing support from individuals, families, local businesses, churches, schools and service groups who reach out, ready to pitch in. It’s a lot of new toys, books, games, pajamas, coats, boots, balls, jackets and snow pants for children ages birth to 17 who are ‘adopted’ for the holidays.

Sometimes it’s more than we can handle. That’s why help from Northeast Acura is a lifesaver. They meet us in schools and church basements where we pick up donated gifts and then deliver them to Unity House where each wish list is checked, bagged and made ready for delivery.

It’s a mission we could not do on our own. The people who buy new gifts and toys to donate and the volunteers who make sure it gets where it needs to are vital to putting the sparkle in the holidays for a child in need. We are grateful for all they do, for Unity House and beyond.

To local businesses like Northeast Acura who quietly pitch in all season long, we are especially grateful.

About Unity House’s Adopt a Child Program
To help, call Unity House at (518) 274-2607, x4139.
You can receive a child’s wish list of two wants and two needs. New toys need to be ready by December 9th.

Or consider hosting a Toy Drive among your circle of friends and family. New items will be used to fill incomplete wish lists and to help supply the holiday store, where parents can ‘shop’ to pick out gifts for their children.

All donations of new toys should be unwrapped. (Donations of gift wrapping supplies gratefully accepted!)

On behalf of those we serve, thank you!
