Paint & Sip to benefit Mental Health Programming

Mark your calendars! May 26th at Troy’s River Street Market

Christina Norris, of the eponymous design studio, is not only a talented artist, but a generous person.

Christina offers Paint & Sip events, gatherings of artists- both actual and aspiring- where folks can paint while enjoying a beverage. It’s creativity in a relaxed atmosphere of friends, making painting accessible to even the most reluctant of artists. With a teacher like Christina (and for some people, wine), attendees tap in to their inner artist. Everyone leaves with their own canvas, a piece of art they made themselves that is worthy to hang on the wall.

Christina dedicates a Paint & Sip event each month to a local charity. It’s her way of supporting valuable services in the community while calling attention to issues. For May’s Mental Health Awareness month, Christina has chose Unity House as the recipient non-profit to benefit from her May 26th Paint & Sip at the River Street Market in Troy. Cost to attend the event is $40 and $5 of each ticket will go to Unity House’s mental health supportive housing program.

About Supportive Housing

For people living with a persistent, sometimes serious mental health diagnosis, community based rehabilitation is key. Stable housing with access to supports is the most important part and contributes to a person’s well-being while also allowing for self-determination and choice at all levels. Housing programs at Unity House are tiered to offer as much independence as desired, while  allowing space for as many supports as needed. For more information on our housing options, which range from temporary to permanent in a variety of settings, please visit our dedicated webpage and consider reaching out if you have specific questions.

About River Street Market

Located in the Hedley Building at 433 River Street in Troy, the market is the ground floor of this busy space. There are restaurants, coffee shops and plenty of space for Paint & Sip. It’s an ideal location to park, paint & sip, and then head out for dinner/drinks afterward. One of the great things about Troy is its ‘walkability’ and the River Street Market is close to everything.

Thank you Christina!
