Go Unity House AIDS Walk Team 2015!

Unity House once again hosted a team for the Capital Region AIDS Walk. Held on Saturday, September 26 in Albany’s Washington Park, the community walk raised awareness of and funds for those living with HIV/AIDS.

The team, made up of staff and friends of Unity House, was creative in their fundraising: they asked family, coworkers and friends to support their efforts, hosted a bake sale and even a Dip Off, where participants entered a unique dip which as then voted on. Tasters purchased unlimited tastes and then got to cast some votes for their favorites.  For the record, it was the fresh salsa and the sweet apple brickle dip in a tie for the win.

All funds raised by the Unity House team in the AIDS Walk comes back to Unity House to support needed services in the Unity House Supported Housing program, among which people living with HIV/AIDS are served.

Unity House is proud to be a long-standing supporter of AIDS advocacy in the Capital District and even more proud to have such caring and dedicated staff who participate in community events like the AIDS Walk.
