April is Volunteer Appreciation Month

At Unity House, we have many reasons to appreciate volunteers. Is it because they share their time and talent in myriad ways around Unity House? Is it because they help in ways both large and small, one-time and over and over again? Yes, yes, and yes.

We consider volunteers vital to our success and are grateful for all they do. Much of what we do would not be possible without the help of so many people in so many different ways. Volunteers are important partners and we are grateful.

They are also an inspiration. When Unity House was founded in 1971, its mission was to serve people in need. That work continues today and would not have been possible- is not possible- without the support of some great volunteers. We are glad that April brings not only better weather, but a chance to show our appreciation to our wonderful volunteers.

Staff- and volunteers!- are busy planning a Volunteer Recognition Celebration on Thursday, April 30th from 4-6pm at The Front Door.  If you are current volunteer at Unity House and haven’t received your electronic invitation, please contact us so we can get it out to you.  We hope to have all the RSVPs counted by April 16.

Not yet a volunteer at Unity House?  Consider attending one of our monthly information sessions at The Front Door.  This hour long briefing is a chance to learn about Unity House programs and services, ask questions and see The Front Door and learn about volunteer opportunities.  Our Volunteer Desk can help you find something of interest. They can even help refer you to another organization to help you find the best fit for your time and talent.

On behalf of all of us at Unity House, and especially those we serve every day, many thanks to our amazing volunteers.
