Welcome and Celebration

Our breakfast event, Help Make Lives Better with Unity House, on November 9th was a chance to meet CEO David L. Bach. It was also a chance to honor guests and volunteers whose lives have been changed by Unity House.

Many thanks to our sponsors who helped host the event, our silent auction donors who helped make the event a success, our guests for attending, and especially our guests who shared their inspirational stories. We heard about a father in our housing program who turned his life around so he could be the father to his own children that he lacked. We learned about about an woman’s experience with domestic violence who has come so far that she is now the one answering the call for help, helping to staff the 24 hour hotline to help others find safety like she did. We heard about a woman who was derailed by mental illness and took advantage of the Unity Hose PROS program, now serving as a role model for those in recovery from mental illness. Last, we heard about the Muffin Lady, a dedicated volunteer who serves weekly in the kitchen. She makes delicious muffins that are beloved by the hundreds of guests who rely on our free lunch. We are grateful of her service and the gratitude she showed for having this opportunity.

In all, it was a wonderful morning that showed just what we can accomplish when we come together. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to all who helped make for a successful event for Unity House. Proceeds from the breakfast go to support Unity House programs and services that help people in need.

If you have questions about our event, our services, or about volunteering, please reach out to Unity House Director of Development, Diane Cameron Pascone, at (518) 274-2607 x4133.

Special thanks to Drue Sanders Custom Jewelers, who donated a beautiful bracelet for Unity House to raffle off. You can still get tickets!  See details, including a photo of this gorgeous, handcrafted piece, here.
