A virtual event
Join us- online! At a safe distance! as we Take Back the Net, a twist on Take Back the Night Events.
Take Back The Night (TBTN) is the earliest worldwide movement to stand against sexual violence, particularly violence against women. Events began in the 1960’s as protests about how women were not able to be safe walking down the street alone. Currently, TBTN events occur in countries across the world, with more locations taking a stand to raise awareness each year.
This year many TBTN events have been canceled. One in five women and one in sixteen men are sexually assaulted while in college (National Sexual Violence Research Center). Unity House’s Domestic Violence Services program will hold a TBTN virtual event open to all community members with an emphasis on awareness raising and collaborating with our local colleges. This event will go live on Zoom; taking place at 7:00PM with programming outlined until 9:30PM.
