Talk Soup is a simple evening meal of soup followed by conversation around food security. The schedule for the Spring series of this free event is as follows:
March 14: with Natasha Pernicka from The Food Pantries of the Capital District. Ms. Pernicka will discuss the many layers of work the organization does to support the emergency feeding system in the area.
April 18: with Alison Schaeffing, Director of Service Learning at The Sage Colleges will speak about food security on campus and connecting colleges to cities.
May 9: Dara Silberman will talk about Second Street Farm, and the problems farmers have connecting to consumers, and what solutions they are pursuing to address that here in Troy.
Soup’s on at 5:30, followed by conversation. We won’t keep you out late.
Location: Unity House dining room, the 2nd floor of Unity House’s Front Door at 2431 6th Ave., Troy, NY 12180. Please join us for a chance to nosh, chat, and meet people interested in our food system.
You can drop in, no reservations required. All are welcome. We won’t ask you to do dishes, although we won’t turn down help clearing the table.
