ReStyle, the Unity House thrift store, is now located on River Street, in the Flanigan Square building, across the street from the Bargain Grocer.

About our Thrift Store

ReStyle, the Unity House thrift store, offers affordable clothing, shoes, and accessories for the whole family, and is open to everyone.

For those in urgent need who cannot afford essential items, Unity House provides assistance through a voucher program. Eligible individuals can receive a voucher from the Front Door Community Resource Center at 2431 Sixth Avenue, Troy, allowing them to shop at ReStyle free of charge. Vouchers are not issued at the store. Stop by or call the Resource Center directly at (518) 274-2607 for more information.

ReStyle accepts cash and major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express). All sales are final—no returns or exchanges.

Hours of Operation

  • Monday: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Tuesday – Thursday: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
  • Friday: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: Closed

Donations

ReStyle relies on donations of gently used items. Donation drop-off days are Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Quality = Dignity

Thank you for your interest in donating to Unity House. We are always happy to take your gently used clothing, shoes and accessories, but please understand we can only accept the same quality we have in our store.

Accepted items include:

  • Clean, in-season clothing
  • Shoes and accessories (purses, bags, jewelry)
  • Linens (sheets, blankets, towels)
  • Books (children and adult)

High-Need Donation Items

Frequently needed items include:

  • New underwear, socks, and bras
  • Coats and boots
  • Everyday clothing (especially men’s)
  • Toiletries
  • Diapers and baby wipes
  • Household basics (dishes, pots/pans, towels, linens)
  • Grocery items
  • Gift cards, including those with remaining balances

Donation guidelines:

  • Items must be clean, ready-to-wear, and free of stains or damage
  • Please donate manageable quantities
  • In-season items are preferred (coats accepted year-round)

Unity House cannot pick up donations.

  • Items we can't accept
    • Used computers. Try E-Lot Recycle.
    • Small electronics and household appliances
    • DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes
    • Used cribs, due to model recalls
    • Toys and games
    • Large furniture such as couches, dining room tables or mattresses with box springs. Try Troy Area United Ministries instead!
    • Clean-out jobs. When cleaning out a house, please choose what you’d like to donate. We appreciate your donation, but please make sure we accept it!
    • Used car seats or other baby care items. Please call to see if a baby item is something we can accept.
    • Used undergarments and bathing suits
    • Athletic or workout equipment
    • Hand or power tools
    • Outdoor lawn equipment

  • Volunteering at ReStyle

    ReStyle provides opportunities for community members to build job skills or volunteer. Volunteers complete an application, attend an orientation, and undergo a confidential background check before placement.
