Help for Victims of Domestic Violence

Resources for victims of intimate partner violence more important now than ever

The spread of coronavirus in the Capital Region has meant organizations like Unity House have had to change their ways of meeting the needs of people who come to them for help. At Unity House’s Domestic Violence Services program, the team hasn’t missed a beat and have been able to continue to meet the needs while maintaining safe distances.

It’s important these services remain available since the pressures of factors like home confinement, loss of employment, child care, and even social outlets can place a burden on a household or a relationship that is already volatile. There has already been a spike in cases of domestic and dating abuse, according the the sheriff’s office. You can learn more in this piece, aired recently by Spectrum news.

A reminder that help is always available at Unity House’s 24 Hour Domestic Violence Emergency Hotline: (518) 272-2370.
